Ptasie Radio Café

Last time when CaffeineSpotter was online this was the coffee spot we started with. This is most probably because it was our top favourite café in the City of Poznan. Located somewhat further from the old town square than it usually happens and also one of the first we found that was decorated so nicely while preserving the affordable prices and a pleasant service.

So here’s the deal. Ptasie Radio is a café located very close to the single and only emperor’s castle in Poland (though it was not any Polish emperor but an emperor nonetheless). You need to first find the kind of hidden small door. It is easier to spot after dawn cause there are little lights hanging around the tree branches nearby. Then you climb the stairs and find yourself in front of a bar of the coffee spot. You’ll probably notice loads of birdhouses, birds, tree branches, birds’ trails and so on. That is because Ptasie Radio means “Bird’s radio” and hence the theme.

Music there is never too loud to have a chat across the table without having to shout, as it often happens in lots of places. The menu is often changing. Hard to miss this as when the waiter hands you the separate pieces of paper you’ll know some were years old, some were added last year, some just yesterday and they all combined are called current offer.

They do have tasty coffees. If I recall correctly the Milano Coffee is one of those that are definitely worth trying. It is served in a big mug so if that is what you want in coffee – go for it. Apart of coffees, however, they also offer some pretty tasty dishes. They used to be cheaper but I guess prices rose in everything so there’s no one to blame for this. If I were to recommend something to eat on the menu I’d go with pastas. Practically everything from this range was delicious last time I checked.

Go there if you happen to be around.
